Newsletter Issue 3 / 2025
Dear members, dear friends and supporters of the museum,
a year full of events is coming to an end. In these turbulent and uncertain times, we would like to take the opportunity to reflect on the past season, express our gratitude, and provide a glimpse into the upcoming year.
Fully Open Season
This season, we were able to keep our museum open continuously. While this was often a challenge, it was manageable thanks to the great support from our active members. To ensure the long-term operation of the museum, we are still urgently looking for members who would like to actively support us with museum services.
Every helping hand counts!
More information about joining can be found here
Active Club Life – Successful Regulars’ Tables
A particularly positive sign for our club life was the numerous museum regulars’ tables that took place this year.
These meetings were always well attended and offered a varied program:
- communal barbecues
- exciting slide and picture evenings
- interesting conversations with many guests and eyewitnesses
The regulars’ tables have significantly contributed to exchange, cohesion, and revitalization of the club.
We definitely want to continue and expand this successful format in the coming year.
New Ways to Attract Young Talent
To specifically engage younger people with our museum, a large and two smaller techno events took place on the museum grounds this year.
These events were an important step in reaching new target groups and making the museum visible even outside of traditional opening days.
Personnel Changes – Treasurer Wanted
Unfortunately, we must announce that our treasurer Patricia Ginetto has resigned from her position for personal reasons. We sincerely thank her for her reliable and dedicated work for the club, which went far beyond the role of treasurer. Without her and her tireless efforts, the many successes of recent years would not have been possible.
At the same time, we are now urgently looking for a successor for this important position.
If you are interested or have questions, please contact the board directly.
Great Success with Tours and Children’s Birthdays
In addition to regular opening hours, numerous tours were conducted.
Our children’s birthdays were particularly well received and turned out to be a real highlight.
We want to further expand this offering and firmly integrate it into our program in the future.
Expansion of the Exhibition
Our exhibition has also been able to grow further:
- The Starfighter engine received a new, suitable base
- An original engine maintenance vehicle has been added to the collection and is to be fully integrated by the next season opening
Website and Audio Guide Now Available in French
Since this year, our website and our audio guide can also be used in French. The content is mostly machine-translated. We do our best here, but we ask for your understanding regarding minor errors.
Outlook for the 2026 Season
The new season starts on April 11, 2026 with an open house.
We are already looking for committed helpers who would like to support us in the organization.
